Jancke-Christoff Combrinck was born in Jamestown, South Africa. He completed his schooling in Bloemfontein, and resided in Gauteng since then.
JC is a committed and versatile artist and his work has won acclaim after his numerous local and international exhibitions. His success lies partly in his unique ability to access and develop new directions, investigating and exhausting them to the full. Using his skills he can communicate almost anything he wishes through his art, manipulating the materials to express from the dramatic formal to the intense philosophical. He respects the creation of art through a variety of views and thoughts. The one non-negotiable expectation he has of any art is that it must reflect good quality both in content and expression.
Of all the phases Combrinck has gone through, he has no favorite. As an artist, his philosophical platform has always been one of diversity. In his career he has been active as prophet, historian, dramatist, commentator and comedian. The one inexorable quality that forms the golden thread throughout his work is the high positive energy and spark that he generates. His work is appreciated and enjoyed in many private and corporate collections worldwide.
