Karin is a South African artist that currently stays in Botswana.  She is self-taught and started painting in 2005.

“…Extreme lighting and contrast in tonal values excite me and I will often play around with these two aspects to achieve the maximum impact.  I love creating a sense of movement in my work and I achieve this by allowing the pigment to react in its organic way within the mixing mediums.  I find that these little “chemical reactions” will often yield interesting results which I then use as the basis of my final work…”

Karin had her first solo exhibition in 2010 and she enjoys working in watercolours, acrylics, inks and oils.
